Propeller flaps in partial ear reconstruction: a case series

چکیده
Abstract Background Ear defect reconstruction still remains a surgical challenge today. Proper should result in correction of the deformity with minimum morbidity aim achieving most esthetically pleasing outcome possible. Herein, we present our clinical experience propeller flap external ear defects focus on indications and technique. Methods Fourteen patients underwent surgery at Plastic Surgery Unit between January 2015 October 2019. After identifying perforators handheld Doppler ultrasound, tailor-made was designed for each patient. Following tumor excision, dissection pedicle remaining performed aid loops. Flap in-setting donor site closure were final steps. Results Flaps have survived their entirety almost all (13/14) maintaining optimal color elasticity showing no complications. In one case, superficial distal necrosis observed and, another patient, recurrence took place. Conclusions Propeller flaps offer great advantages when used ensuring excellent esthetic results one-stage Nevertheless, it must be kept mind that good skills are required order to avoid Level evidence: IV, Therapeutic study.

Propeller Flaps in Lower Limb Reconstruction: Case Series
Introduction: Traditionally in reconstruction of lower limb soft tissue defects, muscle flaps have been the ‘Gold Standard’ for Gustillo Anderson Grade III B fracture involving upper and middle third defects. Lower third defects were usually reconstructed with free flaps. Evolution in flap surgery has enabled fasciocutaneous, adipofascial and superthin flaps to be harvested for the purpose of r...

BACKGROUND/AIM Since their introduction in 1991, propeller flaps are increasingly used as a surgical approach to loss of substance. The aim of this study was to evaluate the indications and to verify the outcomes and the complication rates using this reconstructing technique through a literature review. MATERIALS AND METHODS A search on PubMed was performed using "propeller flap", "fasciocuta...

BACKGROUND "Superthin flap" is a distinctively thin flap that is thinned primarily to the point that the subdermal vascular network can be seen through a minimal fat layer. Reconstruction of severely disfigured neck and face can be performed using the occipito-cervico-dorsal superthin flap that is harvested from the dorsal region and supercharged by the circumflex scapular vessels. We used bipe...
